Holiday Gift Guide 2020

My third annual gift guide is here! I’m normally a last-minute shopper, but with COVID adding extra chaos into the holiday season, I tried to get a responsible(ish) start. Below are some of my favourite pieces from some of my favourite shops and makers. I tried to give lots of local options in Nova Scotia, as well as some from further away.

A couple of quick things to mention: this guide seems to function most intuitively on a computer. I’ll look into this, but (for now) when viewing on a phone, tap on the tiny little dot in the bottom right corner to view description and links. Also, I’ll try to add to this if/when I come across anything new, and some may no longer be available, or may not be able to ship in time for the holidays. Many have November 25th cut-offs for guaranteed delivery by December 25th. You can also view my previous gift roundups from 2018 and 2019 for more ideas.

It’s a pretty big round-up, so I’ve tried to keep it short and sweet. Click through each item to see why I love them and for links to where you can purchase each. Here we go!

Home Decor:

Making our spaces feel like home is more important than ever. I’ve been really leaning into colour and anything that makes each day feel a little more special. Here are some of my favourite accents right now.

Prints:

I’m a big fan of injecting spaces with art and have received some of my favourites as gifts from friends. Here’s a round up of prints, paintings, and photographs from some of my favourite local artists.

Food & Lifestyle:

I’m all for good food, little things that make being cooped up at home more enjoyable, and small reminders that this pandemic will one day pass.

Happy holidays!
